The FEM simulation of wire fracture phenomena during multi-pass drawing

$15.00

In this study, FEM analysis of a drawing process was performed with two FEM codes, one developed by Milenin and the other by Gautham, et al. The risk of fracture in a deformation zone has been estimated using a distribution of indicators for two processes of drawing high-carbon steel – conventional and hydrodynamic with altered and constant drawing direction. Two variants of drawing have been considered—one corresponding to drawing in one direction and the other to drawing with a change of direction after the third pass.
