The importance of reduction of area in the evaluation of high carbon steel wire for cold drawing purposes

$15.00

The need for evaluation of the quality of patenting carried out on high carbon steel wire is discussed. Tests are described which indicate that the reduction of area value, since it indicates austenitic grain size and degree of fineness of the pearlite, can be used for the evaluation of air patented material regarding its suitability for the manufacture of quality wire.
