The Galvacor process, for applying zinc and zinc alloy coatings to steel rod and wire, has been significantly improved since its introduction in 1997. This article presents tangible results of improvements to magnetohydrodynamic coil efficiency, zinc pumping and in-line blast cleaning. Several typical product applications using this process are described, as well as the features which make the process efficient, high-quality and environmentally friendly.
