The equation describing the residual stress pattern in a cross section of the wire is given in the paper. The range of an external zone, in which there are tensile stresses, and the range of an internal zone, in which compressive stresses occur, have been determined. The components of force in the plastic zone and in the elastic zone have also been determined.
