The latest idea of high temperature overhead line conductors with lower energy transmission losses

$15.00

This paper presents a new idea for overhead conductors with special cores. The high-conductivity and high-strength cores are made from Cu-Ag wires (UTS>1000MPa, >75%IACS), and the external layers of conductors are manufactured from aluminum wire. These conductors have an operating temperature limit up to 150oC, making it possible to increase the current capacity of conductors in comparison with HTLS conductors used now. This new concept may limit transmission losses by up to 40%.
