The Mobile Impact Tester for cold heading research at Ivaco Rolling Mills

$15.00

Ivaco Rolling Mills (IRM) has commissioned a Universal Horizontal Impact Tester (UHIT), a multi-purpose apparatus that can deliver up to 20 kJ of mechanical energy to a test specimen at initial velocities exceeding 12 m/s. The horizontal application of impact energy has two main benefits. First, the extensive foundation work found in vertical drop weight impact testers is not necessary, allowing the UHIT to be housed in a mobile laboratory. Second, a well-defined quantity of mechanical energy can be applied to a specimen.
