This paper presents results of tension and compression tests of C76 steel wire samples after patenting and drawing. It shows that during compression testing after deformation wire has a lower value of yield stress in the elastic-plastic stage than in a tensile test. Further deformation of this wire shows that it has lower elastic strain than the first load.
