Description
Carbon black is widely recognized and used as an effective ultraviolet (UV) light stabilizer for plastic applications. Recent research verifies that the quality of dispersion of carbon black in plastics (i.e., polyethylene) can improve UV-resistance and mechanical properties and can extend the life span of finished plastic materials. There has been significant research linking carbon black morphology and UV performance and carbon black dispersion quality and weatherability. This study presents laboratory data supporting the link between dispersion and morphology and weather-resistance, using industry standard carbon blacks as a reference point.
