Description
A large body of knowledge has been created on the hot rolling of many different materials, shapes, and sizes, with increasing speed and accuracy. This paper discusses the history and advancement of the two-roll hot rolling mill technology, and some of the critical aspects of the process for the production of ferrous and nonferrous long products. In addition, it provides a general overview of typical nonferrous and ferrous rolling mills and some background on the selection of pass sequences used to produce rounds, flats, and other shapes of long products.
