How a Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) nitrogen system can be used to provide nitrogen for a customer’s ferrous wire annealing process The customer, a manufacturer of steel fasteners, has large batch annealing furnaces for annealing wire product prior to cold heading. From metallographic analysis and the review of the operation of a PSA nitrogen system, it will be seen that desired part quality of carbon steel material can be obtained with significant reduction in nitrogen costs.
