The American Wire Producers Association (AWPA) is emphasized as an important vehicle which ennables the wire industry to work together for protection against undesirable trade practices. Beginning with a history of U.S. policies effecting the industry, we are brought up-to-date on governmental policy, concluding that filing lawsuits may be the best course of action, even though some improvements have come about through the USTR. Particular attention is given to VRAs.
