Copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, alloys and precious metal wires are used in the construction of many types of insulated wire and cable including power cable, building wire, electronic cable, communications cable, magnet wire and harness wires as well as mechanical wire products. In addition, alternatives to nonferrous metals, such as optical fiber and superconductive materials, are being used and developed. This paper presents the technical state of the nonferrous wiredrawing industry.
