For the first time, an easy to use software program makes it possible to calculate the necessary roller adjustment of straightening units to produce a straight round metal wire. Trial and error, subjective changes to adjustable rollers, are no longer necessary. This paper presents an overview about the software’s background, the elasto-plastic behavior of the process material under alternating loads and it describes other advantages to this technology.
