The advantages of using ‘spheroidize annealed at final size wire’ as preferred feedstock for parts formers is presented. Spheroidize annealed at final size wire is produced by drawing hot rolled bar or rod in coil 30% to 80% reduction in area, then spheroidize annealing and coating it. The wire is fed directly into the header or sized on an in-line wiredrawer. The reasons for increased efficiency are explained.
