Upcast Oy has developed a new, cost-effective, and flexible process producing ZnAl rod, which can be processed further to ZnAl wire. The ZnAl wire is used for coating to protect steel against corrosion. In the Upcast® continuous casting process, the ZnAl rod is cast vertically upwards from the melt, and coiled after an optimized cooling.
