Description
A specific system designed for DurableWire Inc., programmed on an IBM System 34 computer, and operational for over two years is described. The need for a computer system is addressed in general, along with this specific system’s functional requirements. The system is studied element by element, in terms of what is required to set-up the data files, maintain the data and what outputs are provided. System functions include; order entry, material planning, inventory control, shop floor control, shipment, invoicing, cost/sales analysis.
