The constant rate, single bend test was used to determine the effects of some pickling bath variables (sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, inhibited and uninhibited acid, mixed acid, concentration, and temperature) on hydrogen embrittlement of stainless steel. Inhibitors did not lessen embrittlement, and some aggravated it.
