This paper presents the development of super clean valve springs steel (SAE 9254) for the automotive industry, performed in the ISPAT Stahlwerk Ruhrort plant. With the introduction of ISPAT material in the production route of highly stressed valve springs, the specifications of valve spring supplier and consequently the automotive industry have been fulfilled.
