This paper is a global summary of data about fabrication, properties, applications and costs as mentioned in brochures and pamphlets of the suppliers or published in technical papers from conferences, symposia or other technical meetings. Looking to these data it is remarkable that there is a large scatter of property values, especially in the tables giving comparative values for the different types of fibers and composites. Sometimes these values are contrary.
