Description
This paper focuses on the effects of back-tension during drawing on changing diameter. Back-tension, reduction of area, and thermal expansion of die diameter are the main factors in changing the diameter of drawn bar and wire. In the conventional process for drawing bar for precision forging material, back-tension is changed by the drawing force of the roller leveler straightener or other devices. Experimental drawing tests with back-tension were carried out and the diameter of drawn bars were measured accurately.
