Effect of descaling methods of wire rod on surface texture of drawn wires

$15.00

This work describes the chemical and mechanical (stream) descaling of high carbon steel rope wire rods (grades D55 and D75). Longitudinal and circumferential measurements of surface texture parameters of wire were performed with Form Talysurf. Among others the following parameters were analyzed: Ra, Rq, Rp, Rv, Rt, Rsn, Rku, S, Sm. It has been found that the methods of wire rod descaling affect the roughness of drawn wire surfaces.
