This paper discusses the advantages of combining the drawing and extrusion processes into a single step. It analyzes the production efficiency and cost savings possibilities as well as quality improvement achieved by introducing state-of-the-art technology such as quick color change and optimization of process parameters through a computerized system. It also evaluates the raw materials and process know-how needed to achieve high-speed production.
