During 1980 the Wire & Cable Div. of Anaconda-Ericsson and the Syncro Machine Co. were involved in a joint effort to develop a new approach to the drawing and tinning of copper wire in one continuous line. The first part of this presentation will address the in-line tinning process in detail with a description of the process, specifications, and the equipment now available. The case study of the actual development program and machine installation at the Marion, Indiana, plant of Anaconda-Ericsson will be the second part of the presentation.
