The advantages of lacquered insulated wire as opposed to silk or cotton insulated wire are discussed, and testing methods used for the evaluation of lacquered wire are described. Tests carried out include testing of conductivity, flexibility, tension-resistance, resistance, and mechanical properties; measurement of wire diameter and insulation; and numerical determination of faulty spots on the insulation.
