Wiredrawing emulsions must be routinely maintained in order to insure the emulsion exhibits optimal stability, thereby instilling an overall stability to the wiredrawing process. The ability to maintain certain parameters within the optimal operating ranges over time will maximize the useful life of the emulsion while minimizing the operating cost. This paper describes the various emulsion parameters, the dynamics of the system and the importance of consistent anticipative maintenance practices.
