The uses for a composite of steel wire covered with aluminum are examined. This soft aluminum-clad steel wire composed low-carbon steel and aluminum coating of 35% in the cross sectional area demonstrates superior mechanical, bonding, and corrosion resistant, properties. New field applications and economical comparisons are discussed.
