New Generation of Si-Mn-Cr Steel Wire for Coil Spring

$15.00

Improving steel wires for suspension to valve coil springs is a permanent challenge, because springs are required to exhibit always increasing static and cyclic mechanical properties. With the aim of fulfilling customers demands we have looked for improving Si-Mn-Cr steels, i.e., high cleanliness associated to high cold formability, and high strength. This improved steel wire is the result of a modern and optimized steelmaking process, a cold wire rolling, and a controlled wire cooling and, finally, of an adjustment of the chemical composition (A1, V and C). So all the production cycle of steel wire is involved in the optimization process.
