The wire, spring and fastener industries have become fiercely competitive in recent years and only the fittest companies have survived. The need for efficiency has never been more apparent. Introduction of statistical process control methodology has done much to improve efficiency, by collection of data and subsequent control of manufacturing processes. Scrap has been considerably reduced and quality has improved considerably.
