The wire rod mill at the Iron & Steel Company of Trinidad Tobago Ltd., produces wire rod coils characterized by close tolerances, less surface defects, and excellent metallurgical properties. The new Morgan-Schloemann mill design is outlined. Along with an outline of production facilities, process control techniques and properties of the resulting low carbon wire rods are examined.
