Recrystallization/annealability determination using Differential Scanning Calorimetry

$15.00

Wiredrawing characteristics of copper rod are predicted by its annealing response. The spiral elongation test is commonly used to determine annealability of copper rod. This paper describes an alternate method consisting of Differential Scanning Calorimetry for determining recrystallization/annealing behavior of copper rod. The correlation of recrystallization peak data with spiral elongation number and the application of this technique in monitoring annealability of copper rod during production will be discussed.
