Surface quality improvement and energy saving for the wire industry

$15.00

Friction reduction for wiredrawing in an emulsion lubricant was studied using a simulated laboratory setup and a pilot plant test. Surface of wires were characterized by SEM, ESCA and Auger analytic instruments. Lubrication mechanism under electrode control is proposed. Wire surface can be significantly improved and energy consumption substantially reduced by electrode control.
