Theoretical and experimental analysis of the drawing process with change of deformation direction

$15.00

A change of drawing direction even in the last draw significantly affects the fatigue strength of wire and fatigue durability of ropes manufactured from such wire. This paper presents a wide range of experimental investigations and theoretical analyses of factors influencing properties of wire drawn with and without a change of deformation direction in the last draw. Mechanical properties of wire such as tensile strength and yield strength were determined after each draw and the equation of hardening was elaborated on the basis of yield strength measurements.
