This paper highlights recent significant developments in the evolution of polyethylene as a wire and cable insulation and jacketing material. Polyethylene product redesign has reached 100% every six years beginning in 1960. Electrical and physical properties for LLDPE, XLPE, Tree retardant thermoplastic polyethylene, Flame retardant material, and Free stripping insulation shielding are charted.
