Properties and applications of vinyl plastisols are reviewed. Liquid plastisol die-wiped onto fine wire hardens at 300-400~F to provide highly uniform insulation of any thickness down to 2-3 mil. Extruded or poured into a mold, plastisol encapsulates cables or large wire assemblies in tough, flexible, integrally adhesive coatings.
