Wire is still pulled through a hole with a slightly smaller diameter as the wire to be drawn as it has been done for hundreds of years. Although the tool with the hole has continuously changed in shape and material during the years, the technology actually remained unchanged. This actually applies also to a number of other technologies with reference to wire drawing. Although these techniques were also further developed and improved within the years, however, the basic technology actually remained unchanged.
